Born and raised in a small town known as Adel, GA, I would always daydream about visiting so many places within the United States. I would sit in my room and create master plans to get to those places, many of which I saw on tv or read about in books. With age came the discovery of my gifts and talents that I was blessed with: intelligence, courage, athletic abilities and faith. These very blessings were and have been the keys to making my daydreams reality.
I always knew that education was the key to me making something of myself. I put a great deal of emphasis on my studies, working hard to graduate from Cook High School with Honors in 2003. I played four years of Varsity basketball and softball. My freshman year in high school I realized my passion for basketball would pay for my college education. After high school, I went on to play for the University of Louisville on a full athletic scholarship, graduating in 4 years with a bachelors degree! During those college years, 2003 to 2007, I learned a great deal about myself; mainly, through lessons of life I discovered who I was and who I wanted to be. Most of us have seen the movie "Love & Basketball" and dreamed of being Monica Wright! That dream came true for me the day I stepped off of the plane in Geneva, Switzerland for the start of my first professional basketball season! Since that day, I have been blessed to continue living my dream, playing in Finland, Spain, France, Ecuador and Mozambique (Africa). I have experienced so many different cultures, traveled all over the world, learned more about myself, gained an appreciation for the air I'm blessed to breathe and enjoyed every single moment! Now, I intend to pursue another passion of mine and what I feel I'm destined to do. I am striving to help other people make their dreams a reality! Hence, the creation of "Dream It - Claim It!" |
